Selecting a Facebook/Instagram Page

How to choose which Page SoSocial publishes to after connecting Facebook or Instagram.

Choose Your Publishing Page

When you connect Facebook or Instagram, SoSocial needs to know which specific Page you want to publish to. The Page Picker modal handles this selection automatically after the OAuth authorization step.

How the Page Picker Works

After you authorize SoSocial through Facebook’s OAuth flow, a modal appears displaying all the Facebook Pages you administer. Each Page shows its name and profile picture so you can easily identify the right one.

  1. Browse the list of Pages.
  2. Click on the Page you want SoSocial to manage.
  3. Click Confirm to save your selection.

SoSocial stores the selected Page’s ID as your platformUserId for that connection. All future posts will be published to this Page.

For Instagram Connections

When connecting Instagram, you still select a Facebook Page from the picker — specifically the one that has your Instagram Business Account linked. SoSocial then automatically resolves your Instagram Business Account ID from the selected Facebook Page via the Graph API.

If the Page you select doesn’t have a linked Instagram account, the connection will work for Facebook but Instagram publishing won’t be available until you link an Instagram Business Account to that Page.

What If My Page Isn’t Listed?

If you don’t see the Page you’re looking for:

  • Check your role: You must be an admin of the Page for it to appear.
  • Review OAuth permissions: During authorization, make sure you didn’t deselect any Pages from the permission screen.
  • Page visibility: Ensure the Page is published and not in draft mode.

Changing Your Selected Page

To switch to a different Page:

  1. Go to Settings > Platform Connections.
  2. Click Disconnect next to the Facebook or Instagram connection.
  3. Click Connect again to start a new OAuth flow.
  4. Select the new Page from the Page Picker.

Managing Multiple Pages

If you manage several Facebook Pages, you’ll need a separate connection for each one. Each connection targets a single Page, keeping your publishing organized and straightforward.
