Topic Research

Research any topic with AI-powered web search and get ready-to-use captions, key points, and blog content.

Topic Research

SoSocial’s Topic Research feature combines real-time web search with AI synthesis to help you create well-informed, authoritative content on any subject.

How to Use It

  1. Go to the Compose page and click Research Topic.
  2. Enter the topic you want to research (e.g., “sustainable packaging trends 2025”).
  3. SoSocial performs a real-time Google search using the Serper.dev API to gather the latest information.
  4. Claude Sonnet analyzes the search results and generates a comprehensive research package.

What You Get

The research output includes several components:

  • Summary — A concise overview of the topic with the most important takeaways.
  • Key Points — Structured highlights you can reference or repurpose.
  • Social Media Captions — Ready-to-use captions crafted from the research, tailored for social platforms.
  • Blog Post — A full-length article suitable for WordPress or your website’s blog.

Images and WordPress

The research view also lets you:

  • Browse Unsplash images — Search for royalty-free photos related to your topic and add them to your post or blog content.
  • Publish to WordPress — If you’ve connected your WordPress site in Settings, you can publish the generated blog post directly with one click, including an optional featured image.

When to Use Topic Research

  • Thought leadership — Create authoritative posts on industry trends backed by current data.
  • Content marketing — Generate blog posts and social captions from a single research session.
  • Staying current — The real-time search ensures your content reflects the latest information, not outdated training data.
  • Repurposing — Turn one research session into multiple content pieces: a blog post, several social captions, and visual content with Unsplash images.

Tips

  • Be specific with your topic for better results. “Email marketing open rates by industry 2025” will produce more useful output than just “email marketing.”
  • Use the generated blog post as a first draft and add your own expertise and opinions before publishing.
  • Save the social captions as drafts and schedule them throughout the week to maximize the value of each research session.
