WordPress Publishing

Publish AI-generated blog posts directly to your WordPress site from SoSocial.

WordPress Publishing

SoSocial bridges the gap between social media and content marketing by letting you publish blog posts directly to your WordPress site. Combined with the AI Research feature, you can go from topic idea to published blog post in minutes.

Setting Up WordPress

Before you can publish, connect your WordPress site in SoSocial:

  1. Go to Settings in the sidebar.
  2. Find the WordPress connection section.
  3. Enter your WordPress URL (e.g., https://yourblog.com).
  4. Enter your WordPress username.
  5. Enter your Application Password — this is a special password generated in your WordPress admin panel under Users > Your Profile > Application Passwords. It’s not your regular login password.

Once connected, the WordPress publishing option becomes available throughout SoSocial.

Publishing a Blog Post

The most common workflow for WordPress publishing starts with Topic Research:

  1. Go to the Compose page and click Research Topic.
  2. Enter your topic. The AI researches it and generates a full blog post along with social captions.
  3. Review the generated blog post content.
  4. Optionally select a featured image from the Unsplash image results.
  5. Click the Publish to WordPress button.

The post is sent to your WordPress site via the REST API, complete with the title, formatted HTML content, and featured image if selected.

What Gets Published

When you publish to WordPress, SoSocial sends:

  • Title — The blog post headline.
  • Content — The full article in HTML format, ready for your WordPress theme to display.
  • Featured Image — An optional header image that appears at the top of the post (if selected).

Tips

  • Use Application Passwords, not your main WordPress password. They can be revoked individually and don’t expose your primary login.
  • Review and edit the AI-generated blog post before publishing. Add your own expertise, internal links, and specific examples.
  • After publishing the blog post, use the generated social captions to promote it across your social platforms — creating a complete content marketing workflow from a single research session.
  • Check your WordPress site after publishing to verify formatting looks correct with your theme.
