Editing Posts
How to open and edit scheduled posts and drafts from the Posts page.
Editing Posts
Whether you spot a typo, want to swap an image, or need to update your caption, SoSocial makes it easy to edit any post — scheduled or draft — right from the Posts page.
Opening a Post for Editing
On the Posts page, click anywhere on a post card to open it in the composer. The card body is the clickable area — this means clicking on the caption preview, media thumbnails, platform icons, or any empty space on the card will take you to the editor.
Interactive elements on the card — like checkboxes (used for bulk selection) and action buttons — work independently. Clicking them won’t accidentally navigate you to the editor. This design ensures you can interact with card controls without unintended side effects.
Editing Scheduled Posts
When you open a scheduled post, the composer shows:
- Title: “Edit Post”
- Actions: “Update Post” and “Cancel”
You can modify the caption, change attached media, add or remove platforms, and adjust any other post settings. Click Update Post to save your changes. The post remains at its scheduled date and time unless you explicitly reschedule.
If you need to change the scheduled date or time, click Reschedule to open the Schedule Modal and pick new dates.
Click Cancel to discard all changes and return to the Posts page.
Editing Drafts
When you open a draft, the composer shows:
- Title: “Edit Draft”
- Actions: “Save as Draft” and “Cancel”
Since drafts aren’t in the publish queue, there’s no scheduling interface — just edit your content and save. When the draft is ready to go live, you can schedule or publish it directly from the composer.
Things to Keep in Mind
- Edit before the scheduled time — changes to a scheduled post only take effect if you save them before the post is published.
- Rescheduling cleans up old jobs — when you reschedule, old queue entries are automatically removed and replaced.
- Use the Calendar for a visual way to find and edit posts by date.
- Drafts are safe — editing a draft doesn’t affect any scheduled or published content.
