Publishing Immediately

How to use the Publish Now feature to send your post live to all selected platforms instantly.

Publishing Immediately

Sometimes you need content out right away — breaking news, a flash sale, or a spontaneous update. The Publish Now feature lets you skip the scheduling step and push your post live within seconds.

How to Publish Now

  1. Compose your post — write your caption, attach media, and select the platforms you want to publish to.
  2. Click “Publish Now” — instead of clicking Schedule, choose the Publish Now option in the composer toolbar.
  3. Confirm — your post is immediately sent to all selected platforms.

That’s it. No date picking, no queue waiting.

What Happens Behind the Scenes

When you click Publish Now, SoSocial creates scheduled post entries and sends them directly to the publishing system — bypassing the usual delayed queue. The publisher calls each platform’s API in sequence and updates the database with the result.

Your post goes live on all selected platforms within seconds, and you’ll see the status update on the Posts page almost immediately.

When to Use Publish Now

  • Time-sensitive content — announcements, event updates, or trending topics that can’t wait.
  • Quick shares — a photo, thought, or link you want to get out without planning ahead.
  • Testing — verify that your platform connections are working by publishing a test post.

Things to Keep in Mind

  • Double-check before publishing. Unlike scheduled posts, there’s no buffer time to catch mistakes. Once you click Publish Now, the content is sent immediately.
  • Platform review delays. While SoSocial publishes instantly on its end, some platforms (like TikTok) may have their own processing or review steps before the post appears publicly.
  • Published posts appear in analytics. Just like scheduled posts, immediately published content is tracked and included in your engagement metrics.

If you’re unsure about timing, consider scheduling the post for a few minutes in the future instead — that gives you a short window to cancel if needed.
