Creating Your First Post
A walkthrough of composing and publishing your first post with SoSocial.
Compose and Publish
The Compose page is where you create content for all your connected social platforms. Here’s how to craft and send your first post.
Getting to the Compose Page
Click Compose in the sidebar. When creating a new post, all your connected platforms are automatically selected as targets — you can deselect any you don’t want to post to.
Selecting Target Platforms
In the left sidebar of the Compose page, you’ll see checkboxes for each connected account. Check the platforms where you want this post published. You can target a single platform or several at once — SoSocial handles publishing to each one.
Writing Your Caption
The content editor supports rich text formatting:
- Bold and italic text
- Bulleted and numbered lists
- Line breaks and paragraphs
Write your caption in the main editor area. The preview panel on the right shows how your post will look on each selected platform in real time.
Adding Media
Click the media upload area to add images or videos. You can upload multiple files for carousel-style posts. Supported formats include JPEG, PNG, GIF, and MP4. SoSocial automatically handles media delivery to each platform’s API.
Using AI Features
SoSocial’s AI tools are built right into the Compose page:
- Generate Caption — Opens a modal with AI-generated captions tailored for Facebook, Instagram, and X/Twitter, each adapted to the platform’s style and character limits.
- Suggest Hashtags — Analyzes your content and appends relevant hashtags to your caption.
- Engagement Score — As you type, a real-time score (1–10) predicts how well your content may perform. It updates automatically with a short delay.
Publishing Options
When your post is ready, you have two choices:
- Publish Now — Sends the post to all selected platforms immediately.
- Schedule — Opens the scheduling modal where you can pick one or more dates and times for future publishing. AI can even suggest optimal posting times based on your analytics data.
Saving as Draft
Not ready to publish yet? Click Save as Draft to store your post for later. Access your drafts anytime from the Drafts page.
