Onboarding Wizard

How the onboarding wizard helps you set up your brand voice and connect your first social account.

Your Guided Setup

After your first login, SoSocial’s onboarding wizard appears automatically to help you get up and running. It walks you through two essential setup steps: defining your brand voice and connecting a social media account.

When Does the Wizard Appear?

The onboarding wizard launches when both of these conditions are true:

  • Your Brand Settings are empty (no brand name or description configured).
  • You haven’t connected any social accounts yet.

Once you complete the wizard — or if you skip it and set things up manually later — it won’t appear again.

Step 1: Set Up Your Brand Voice

The wizard first asks you to define your brand identity. This information powers all of SoSocial’s AI features, so the more detail you provide, the better your generated content will be.

  • Brand name — Your business or personal brand name.
  • Description — A short summary of what your brand is about and who your audience is.
  • Tone of voice — How you want your content to sound (e.g., professional, casual, witty, inspiring).
  • Content themes — The main topics you post about (e.g., product updates, industry tips, behind-the-scenes).

You can update all of these later in the Settings page under Brand Settings.

Step 2: Connect Your First Account

Next, the wizard prompts you to connect at least one social media platform. You’ll see options for Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, and TikTok. Click Connect on your preferred platform and follow the OAuth authorization flow.

For Facebook and Instagram, you’ll also select which Page you want SoSocial to manage.

Skipping the Wizard

Not ready to set everything up? You can skip the wizard entirely and configure your brand voice and connections later from the Settings page. The wizard is purely a convenience — all the same options are available in Settings at any time.

After Setup

Once you’ve completed the wizard, you’ll land on the Dashboard with everything ready to go. Head to the Compose page to create your first post, or explore the rest of SoSocial’s features.
