Ad Insights & Metrics
Monitor campaign performance with impressions, reach, clicks, spend, CPM, and CTR metrics.
Ad Insights & Metrics
The Insights Panel on the Ads page shows performance metrics for your campaigns, ad sets, and individual ads. Use these metrics to evaluate what’s working, identify underperformers, and optimize your ad spend.
Accessing Insights
Click on any campaign, ad set, or ad on the Ads page to view its Insights Panel. Metrics are available at every level of the hierarchy, so you can zoom in from campaign-wide performance down to individual ad results.
Key Metrics
Impressions
The total number of times your ad was displayed. This counts every view, including repeated views by the same person. High impressions mean your ad is being shown frequently.
Reach
The number of unique users who saw your ad. Unlike impressions, reach counts each person only once. Compare reach to impressions — if impressions are much higher than reach, the same people are seeing your ad multiple times.
Clicks
How many times users clicked on your ad. This includes clicks on the CTA button, links, images, and “See more” text. Clicks are a direct measure of interest and engagement.
Spend
The total amount spent on delivering the ad, ad set, or campaign. Monitor spend against your budget to ensure you’re pacing correctly and not overspending.
CPM (Cost Per Thousand Impressions)
How much you’re paying for every 1,000 impressions. CPM helps you compare the cost-efficiency of different campaigns or ad sets. A lower CPM means you’re reaching people at a lower cost.
CTR (Click-Through Rate)
The percentage of impressions that resulted in a click (Clicks / Impressions x 100). A higher CTR indicates your ad creative and messaging are compelling. Industry benchmarks vary, but a CTR above 1% is generally considered solid for social media ads.
Using Insights Effectively
- Compare ad sets — If one audience segment has a much higher CTR, consider shifting more budget toward it.
- Test creatives — Compare CTR and CPM across different ads within the same ad set to find winning creatives.
- Watch spend pacing — If a campaign is spending its budget too quickly, consider adjusting the daily budget or narrowing the audience.
- Track over time — Check insights regularly to spot trends. An ad that performed well initially may fatigue over time as the same audience sees it repeatedly.
