Connecting Your Ad Account

Before you can create or manage ads in SoSocial, you need to link your Meta Ad Account. This connects SoSocial to Meta’s advertising platform so you can manage campaigns, ad sets, and ads from one place.

Prerequisites

  • A Meta Business account with an active Ad Account.
  • Admin or Advertiser access to the Ad Account you want to connect.
  • A connected Facebook Page in SoSocial (required for publishing ads).

How to Connect

  1. Navigate to the Ads page from the sidebar.
  2. If no Ad Account is linked, you’ll see a setup prompt.
  3. Provide your Access Token and Ad Account ID:
    • Your Ad Account ID can be found in Meta Business Suite under Business Settings > Ad Accounts. It’s a numeric ID prefixed with act_.
    • The access token authenticates SoSocial to make API calls on your behalf.
  4. Click Connect to save your credentials.

Auto-Fetch Flow

If available, you can use the auto-fetch flow to streamline the connection. This method automatically discovers your Ad Account details from your connected Facebook account, reducing the chance of entering incorrect credentials.

After Connecting

Once your Ad Account is linked, the Ads page will display your existing campaigns (if any) and unlock the tools to create new ones. You can:

  • View active, paused, and completed campaigns.
  • Create new campaigns, ad sets, and ads.
  • Monitor performance metrics in the Insights panel.

Troubleshooting

  • Invalid token — Make sure your access token has the required permissions (ads_management, ads_read).
  • Account not found — Double-check your Ad Account ID, including the act_ prefix.
  • Permission denied — Verify you have Admin or Advertiser access on the Ad Account in Meta Business Suite.
