Timezone Configuration

Set your timezone so scheduled posts and calendar views display times correctly.

Timezone Configuration

Setting the correct timezone ensures that all scheduled post times, calendar views, and time-related displays throughout SoSocial are accurate for your location.

Setting Your Timezone

  1. Go to Settings from the sidebar.
  2. Find the Timezone option within Brand Settings.
  3. Select your timezone from the dropdown list.
  4. Save your changes.

Where Timezone Applies

Your configured timezone affects how times are displayed across the entire app:

Calendar

The Calendar page (List, Day, Week, and Month views) shows all scheduled posts using your timezone. When you view a day’s schedule, the times reflect your local time.

Posts Page

The Posts page groups scheduled posts by day and shows publication times in your timezone. Status labels like “Pending” and “Published” include timestamps adjusted to your local time.

Schedule Modal

When scheduling a post, the time picker and AI-suggested optimal times use your timezone. The time you select is the time the post will be published in your local time.

Dashboard

The Dashboard’s upcoming posts section and trend charts display times relative to your timezone.

Why Timezone Matters

Social media publishing is time-sensitive. Posting at the right time for your audience can significantly impact engagement. By setting your timezone correctly:

  • Scheduled posts publish when you expect — A post scheduled for 9:00 AM publishes at 9:00 AM in your local time, regardless of where the server is hosted.
  • AI optimal times make sense — The Analytics feature’s optimal posting times heatmap is displayed in your timezone, so the suggestions are actionable without mental time conversion.
  • Team coordination is easier — When team members in different locations view the calendar, they each see times adjusted to the organization’s configured timezone, keeping everyone aligned.

Tips

  • Set this early — Configure your timezone before scheduling your first post to avoid confusion.
  • Update when traveling — If your business operates in a fixed timezone, keep it set there regardless of where you personally are. Change it only if your target audience’s timezone changes.
  • Check after daylight saving changes — Most timezone settings handle DST automatically, but it’s good practice to verify your scheduled posts around the transition.
