Removing Team Members
Remove team members from your organization and manage access to shared resources.
Removing Team Members
When a team member leaves your company, changes roles, or no longer needs access to your SoSocial organization, admins can remove them quickly.
How to Remove a Member
- Go to Account from the sidebar.
- Scroll to the Team Management section.
- Find the team member you want to remove.
- Click the Remove button next to their name.
- Confirm the removal when prompted.
The member’s access is revoked immediately.
What Happens When a Member Is Removed
- Organization access revoked — The removed member can no longer see or interact with any of the organization’s content, accounts, or settings.
- Posts and content preserved — Any posts, drafts, or scheduled content created by the removed member remain in the organization. Nothing is deleted.
- Personal account unaffected — The removed member’s SoSocial account still exists. If they belong to other organizations, they can continue using those. If they don’t belong to any other organization, they’ll need to create or join one.
- Integration connections — Since integrations are per-user, the removed member’s personal integrations (like their Canva connection) go with them. Organization-level connections (like WordPress) remain with the organization.
Who Can Remove Members
Only users with Admin privileges can remove team members. Members cannot remove other members or themselves from the organization.
Important Notes
- You cannot remove the organization owner — The original creator of the organization always retains access and cannot be removed.
- Removal is immediate — There’s no grace period. The member loses access as soon as you confirm.
- Re-inviting is possible — If you remove someone by mistake, you can always send them a new invitation to rejoin the organization.
Before Removing a Member
Consider these steps before removing someone:
- Review their scheduled posts — Make sure any upcoming posts they created are still relevant and correctly configured.
- Reassign responsibilities — If the member was managing specific platforms or content areas, ensure another team member takes over.
- Communicate the change — Let the team know about the change to avoid confusion about who’s managing what.
