Engagement Score
SoSocial uses AI to predict how well your post is likely to perform, giving you a real-time engagement score from 1 to 10 as you write.
How It Works
As you type your caption in the composer, SoSocial sends the content to an AI model (Claude Haiku) for analysis. The score updates automatically with a 1.5-second debounce — meaning it waits briefly after you stop typing before recalculating, so it doesn’t interrupt your flow.
The score is displayed near the editor, giving you instant feedback without any extra steps.
What the Score Means
- 1–3 — The content may need more work. Consider adding a stronger hook, a clearer message, or a call to action.
- 4–6 — Decent content that should perform reasonably well. Small tweaks could push it higher.
- 7–10 — Strong content with good engagement potential. Well-structured, relevant, and compelling.
The AI evaluates factors like clarity, emotional appeal, relevance, call to action, and overall structure. It also considers platform best practices when applicable.
How to Use It
Think of the engagement score as a creative compass rather than an absolute metric. It’s most useful for:
- Comparing variations — Write two versions of a caption and see which scores higher.
- Catching weak content — A low score is a signal to revisit your caption before publishing.
- Learning what works — Over time, you’ll develop an intuition for what drives higher scores.
Important Notes
- The score is a prediction, not a guarantee. Many external factors (timing, audience mood, platform algorithm changes) affect real-world performance.
- It works best when you have Brand Settings configured, as the AI uses your brand context for more accurate scoring.
- The score updates are fast because they use Claude Haiku, which is optimized for quick, lightweight tasks.
