Auto-Reply Rules
Set up automatic replies to incoming messages based on triggers, platforms, and custom response content.
Auto-Reply Rules
Auto-Reply Rules let you automatically respond to incoming messages without manual intervention. This is useful for acknowledging new comments, answering common questions, or providing instant responses outside of business hours.
Setting Up Rules
- Go to Settings > Auto-Reply Rules.
- Click Add Rule to create a new auto-reply rule.
- Configure the following:
Trigger Type
Choose what initiates the auto-reply:
- New Comment — Fires when someone comments on one of your posts.
- New DM — Fires when you receive a new direct message.
Platform Scope
Select which platforms the rule applies to. You can apply a rule to all connected platforms or limit it to specific ones (e.g., only Facebook and Instagram).
Response Content
Write the reply that will be sent automatically. You can use a static message (e.g., “Thanks for reaching out! We’ll get back to you shortly.”) or enable AI-generated replies.
AI-Generated Replies
When enabled, the auto-reply uses AI to craft a response tailored to each incoming message. The AI considers the message content, your brand voice settings, and the conversation context to generate a relevant reply — rather than sending the same generic response to everyone.
How Rules Run
Auto-reply rules are evaluated each time new messages are synced. When a message matches a rule’s trigger type and platform scope, the configured response is sent automatically through the platform API.
Tips
- Start with a simple acknowledgment rule (e.g., “Thanks for your message!”) and expand from there.
- Use AI-generated replies for more natural, context-aware responses.
- Review your auto-reply activity periodically to make sure responses are appropriate.
- You can pause or delete rules at any time without affecting past replies.
