How to respond to DMs, comments, and mentions directly from your SoSocial inbox.
Replying to Conversations
You can respond to any conversation directly from the SoSocial Inbox without leaving the app. Replies are posted through the platform’s API, so they appear natively on Facebook, Instagram, X, or TikTok — just as if you’d replied from the platform itself.
How to Reply
- Open the Inbox page from the sidebar.
- Click a conversation in the list to open the thread view.
- Type your message in the Reply Box at the bottom of the thread.
- Click Send to post your reply.
Your reply is sent immediately to the platform. It will appear in the conversation thread on SoSocial and on the original platform.
What Happens Behind the Scenes
When you send a reply, SoSocial calls the appropriate platform API using your connected account credentials. For example:
- Replying to a Facebook comment posts your response as a reply on that Facebook post.
- Replying to an Instagram DM sends a direct message back to that user.
- Replying to an X mention posts a reply tweet.
Quick Reply Suggestions
Below the reply box, you may see quick reply suggestions — short, pre-composed responses for common situations. Click any suggestion to insert it into the reply box, then edit or send as-is. These help you respond faster to routine messages.
Tips
- Review the full thread before replying to make sure you have the right context.
- Use the AI reply suggestions feature for more tailored responses that match your brand voice.
- Replies are sent in real time — once you click Send, there’s no undo, so double-check before sending.
